Mead Lumber has been part of the Nebraska City community since 1972, but the commitment to providing quality building products in our location has a much deeper history.
In 1888, the Rolfe Lumber Yard opened up, and operated up until 1901. Then in 1905, the Otoe Lumber Company started back up, and stayed in business until it was sold in 1934. Then the Dierks-Drumm Lumber Yard Company was in business for a year. Then later in 1934, the Kirtley Lumber and Supply was in business until 1945. That’s when it became Hoppe Lumber and Supply. Then in 1972, Mead Lumber purchased it and it has been with us ever since.
